This was for a landlord who has a lot of people living in this space, and due to the small hallway, the walls and skirting receive a lot of abuse. So one thing we did to help reduce maintenance is to paint the walls in a washable light grey to hide marks and for easy cleaning. the place also revied a lot of water damage due to it being a council block and the roof had not been fixed for a long time, this meant that we also had to replace the ceiling, air out the flat and use damp sealer once the leak has been resolved. One other thing we did to help reduce future work is replacing the worn-out laminate with tiling so spillages won't affect the floor.
And during this, we also gave the balcony a much-needed clean-up, rust removal, and paint job. And the change is noticeable even looking up from downstairs.
